We Made Cupcakes! š°
Hi everyone!
So Danny and I decided to do a little baking today and make some Funfetti cupcakes! Even though its out of a box and Iām pretty sure most people probably wouldnāt count that as ābaking,ā I really enjoy baking and want to get back into doing it more often. I used to bake all the time but sort of fell out of it for a little while, but I used to have a lot of fun doing it!
Iām so excited to get to share our fun evening with you guys! I heard somewhere before that to have a successful blog its important not to share diary-like posts and to keep it purely informationalāthe problem with that is that I love reading peoplesā diary posts on their blogs! Some of my favorite writers are ones who do posts like these, where we get to glimpse into their everyday lives. Plus, while I will take some of what I heard into consideration while working on the lovely blog, this is ultimately my little home home on the internet and Iām excited to have the ability to craft it into something that Iām excited for and proud of. Iām proud that I get to fill the pages of this space with the beatings of my heart!
I hope to find some kindred spirits in that regard, and hopefully you guys will find this post fun to read.
Like any other reasonable adult, we decided to do this in the middle of the night. Not due to any real particular reason, other than Danny had some homework he needed to finish before we could get started. So while he did that I played some games on my laptop and watched some movies, waiting patiently for him to pen the last word on his paper for his humanities class so we could get started!
For our little baking night, I decided to wear my yellow Modcloth Soda Fountain dress (the exact name escapes me, and its discontinued anyway. I found mine on Mercari!) with an old zombie diner waitress apron I got from Sourpuss Clothing! Iāve held onto that apron since forever and am glad whenever I get to use it! Incase you didnāt know, Iām not much of a cook so I donāt make use of it as often as Iād like. The Modcloth dress is so comfortable!
Fun Fact: it didnāt occur to us until after we already got started, and until well after stores had closed, that we probably needed cupcake wrappers. Luckily we still had some in the cabinet!
While we waited for the baking to finish, we (and by āweā I mean āIā because he doesnāt like this particular movie, thinks its too boring, but personally I love it) watched Aristocats! Despite the incredibly questionable content in some spots, I think Aristocats is a really sweet movie and I remember loving it a lot when I was a kid. Every time I hear Marie sing her little song at the beginning, or hear her say āLadies donāt start fights but we can finish them!ā I imagine thatās what Wednesdayās voice would sound like if she could talk! I think thatās also part of why I enjoy it so much. Marie makes me think of my sweet little Wednesday!
Once the cupcakes were finished, we set them out all nice and cute on my Lumiere cake stand I got for my birthday last year. Itās one of the three things from the Disney Store I wanted that year (the other being my trusty Chip mug, which I got, and the other being a life-size Mrs. Potts Teapot that I didnāt get because they sold out and people are selling them on Amazon for a massive markup, but Iāve got another smaller Mrs. Potts Teapot so thatās good enough!) and I treat it with kid gloves most of the time, because Iām super paranoid about it breaking.
We frosted the cupcakes with pink frosting!
I mean, duh, you can probably see that in the pictures.
Once we had the cupcakes finished, we sat together in the living room and watched Disneyās Alice in Wonderland, my absolute favorite franchise, enjoying our sweet little treats! By then I was growing super tired and eager to get to bed, so I only had a couple before I turned in for the night.
I had so much fun baking with Danny. Itās always fun when we cook or bake together. Itās actually one of the things we enjoy doing most as a couple!
What are your favorite sweet treats?
